Child Safety Standards

Version 1.0 (13+ launch) · Effective date: 9 October 2026 · Applies to the CampusNet app (Android and iOS) and www.campusnet.ai · Published by Orangetech Innovations Private Limited

CampusNet is a learning and school community platform for students of classes 8 to 12 aged 13 and above, teachers and schools in India. Many of our users are teenagers under 18. Keeping them safe is the first rule of the product.

Zero tolerance. CampusNet prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form. We remove it, ban the accounts involved, preserve evidence and report it to the authorities.

1. What is prohibited

On CampusNet, nobody may:

  • create, upload, share, request or link to sexual content involving anyone under 18, including drawn, edited or AI-generated images;
  • groom a child: build trust with a child in order to abuse or exploit them, including asking a child to keep a conversation secret or move it off CampusNet;
  • sexualise a child in words, images, comments or messages;
  • ask a child for intimate images, or threaten to share images of a child (sextortion);
  • arrange to meet a child for sexual purposes, or traffic or exploit a child in any way;
  • share content that promotes or normalises the abuse of children.

This applies to every user: students, teachers, school staff and anyone else, in every part of CampusNet, including chat, group chat, the feed, live sessions, profiles, book listings and job listings.

2. How the app protects children

  • No contact with strangers by default. Messaging opens only after a contact request is accepted, or through a school, job or book relationship. There is no anonymous or random chat.
  • Guardian consent. A student under 18 needs a parent or guardian's agreement before contact with people outside their own school. CampusNet does not allow accounts for children under 13.
  • Private by default. A student's contact details, address, date of birth and scores are never shown to other users. Students choose who can find them.
  • Report and block everywhere. Every message, conversation, profile, group, post, session and listing can be reported from inside the app, and any user can be blocked.
  • Priority review. Reports marked as a safety concern involving a minor go to the top of the moderation queue.
  • Records kept for safety. Messages are kept so that reports can be reviewed, and access to them is logged.

3. How to report a concern

Inside the app

  1. Tap the flag icon or Report on the message, profile, post, group, session or listing.
  2. Choose Safety concern involving a minor or Harassment or abuse.
  3. Tick Also block them if you want to stop all contact. The person is not told who reported them.

You can also open Help & Support in the app and raise a ticket. Safety tickets involving a minor are escalated automatically.

Without the app

Email contact@orangetech.ai with the subject "Child safety concern". Parents, teachers and members of the public can report this way. Do not attach or forward any sexual image of a child; describe where you saw it instead.

4. What we do when we find CSAE or CSAM

  1. Remove it at once. Content is taken down as soon as we know of it, and in every case within the time Indian law sets.
  2. Ban the account. The accounts involved are suspended immediately and permanently removed. We act to stop the same person returning.
  3. Preserve evidence. We keep the material and related records securely, with restricted and logged access, only for the authorities.
  4. Report it. We report to the police and through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in), as the POCSO Act requires, and cooperate with any investigation.
  5. Support the child. Where a child is at risk, we inform their parent or guardian and, where relevant, their school, unless doing so would put the child in more danger.

5. Laws we follow

  • Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, including the duty to report.
  • Information Technology Act, 2000 (including section 67B) and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
  • Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its Rules, including verifiable parental consent for children.
  • Google Play's Child Safety Standards and Families policies.

6. Getting help now

  • If a child is in immediate danger, call 112 (emergency).
  • Childline India: 1098, free and open 24 hours.
  • Cyber crime helpline: 1930, or report at cybercrime.gov.in.
